Revelation 21 & 22 – The New Jerusalem
Revelation Chapter 21 talks about what the new heaven
will be like. Verses 1-27 gives an amazing picture. “Now the wall of the city
had twelve foundations, and on them were the same names of the twelve apostles
of the Lamb”. (Revelation 21:14). Revelation 21:18-20 talk about how the
foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all different kinds of
precious stones. Jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, sardius,
chrysolite, beryl, topaz, chrysoprase, cinth, and amethyst. Verse 25 says that the gates shall never be
shut and verse 27 says that only the ones written in the Lamb’s Book of Life
will be in the city.
Revelation Chapter 22 talks about the river of life that
all of God’s people will drink from it and eat of the fruit that it yields
every month. Verses 6-21 talk about how God is coming soon, that the prophecy
of this book shall not be sealed up, verse 14 “ He who is unjust, let him be
unjust still, he who is filthy, let him be filthy still, he who is righteous,
let him be righteous still, he who is holy, let him be holy still. Jesus gives
us a warning to not add or subtract the any part of the Bible and especially to
the book of Revelation in verses 18 and 19. Finally in verse 20-21 Jesus tells
us that He is coming quickly.
This now completes this Revelation Bible study which
shows the full picture of Jesus, this end time and very important message, and of course how much Jesus loves
you. The book of Revelation is nothing more then an out crying of his love for
you. He warns us and gives us this amazing prophecy because he wants us to be
ready so we can choose to follow God. That’s how much he wants us all to be
with Him in heaven forever and ever.
